Michael R. Lucas has been practicing law in the Joliet area for more than 20 years. He has represented both private and municipal clients in local courts, courts of appeal and the federal court for the Northern District of Illinois. He is a member of the Will County Bar Association and the Illinois State Bar Association. He has represented several municipalities as prosecutor and has wide experience in both civil and criminal matters.
Michael is a member of the Board of Directors of the Will-Grundy Medical Clinic, the Plainfield Lions Club and the Plainfield Park District Foundation. Community activities also include membership in the Joliet Chamber of Commerce and the Plainfield Area Chamber of Commerce.
Michael’s undergraduate degree is from St. Joseph’s College in Rensselaer, Indiana; he graduated from Valparaiso University School of Law in Indiana. Michael was raised in the Plainfield-Joliet area; he graduated from Plainfield High School and attended Joliet Junior College.
Ted Jarz has been practicing law in northern Illinois since 1973. As a senior partner in a large Joliet law firm, he has practiced in many areas of both civil and criminal law. His focus, over the last fifteen years has been on medical malpractice defense, primarily for Silver Cross Hospital. He is the senior-most partner in the firm practicing injury and commercial litigation – representing both plaintiffs and defendants.
He has successfully pursued claims with verdicts and settlements of more than one million dollars on behalf of injured individuals and has also successfully defended cases where claims were made for similar amounts. He has represented plaintiffs in automobile negligence claims and in cases arising from injuries caused by product defects and dangerous conditions caused by neglected or unsafe property. He also represents businesses and individuals in contract disputes such as leases and sales agreements. Ted was admitted to the Illinois State Bar in 1973 after graduating with honors from the Illinois Institute of Technology/Chicago Kent College of Law. He was the top student of his graduating class. His undergraduate degree is from the University of Illinois/Chicago Circle in 1970, where he graduated with honors. He was born in New York City and grew up with his family in the western suburbs of Chicago. He has lived in the Joliet area since beginning his law practice, and is married with four children.
Ted is a member of the Board of Directors for Guardian Angel Community Services in Joliet, an organization assisting the community with support for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, children in need of foster care and alternative educational programs and individuals in need of substance abuse rehabilitation. He is a member in the Channahon-Minooka Rotary Club.
